RICHARD AMSEL

I'm a huge fan of the work of Richard Amsel (1947 –1985), who was an American illustrator and graphic designer with a brief but prolific career. He did many famous album and magazine covers, and was associated with TV Guide for thirteen years (his portrait of comedian Lily Tomlin for the cover of Time Magazine is now part of the permanent collection at the Smithsonian Institution). But it's his beautiful movie posters that I like best.

Here are some of my favorites...

'Coal Miner's Daughter'
'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade'

Judy Garland in 'A Star is Born'

'Hello Dolly!'

Streisand and Matthau

'Death On The Nile'

'Murder On The Orient Express'

'New York, New York'

'What's Up Doc?'

'Yentl'
